What is Ledger in Tally Prime ?

In Tally Prime a ledger is an actual account which is used for identify business transactions and in all accounting vouchers.

In Tally Prime, a ledger is a master record that contains information about a specific account. Ledgers are used to record all financial transactions related to a particular account, such as sales, purchases, payments, and receipts. Each ledger in Tally Prime has a unique name and is classified under a particular group, such as Sundry Debtors, Sundry Creditors, Bank Accounts, Cash-in-hand, Expenses, and Incomes.

Ledgers in Tally Prime can be used to generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements. They can also be used to track and manage outstanding payments, maintain customer and vendor records, and reconcile bank and credit card transactions.

To create a new ledger in Tally Prime, you can go to 
"Gateway of Tally" -> "Create." -> "Ledgers" 
Then you can enter the name of the ledger, select the appropriate group, and provide other necessary information such as the opening balance, contact details, and tax information.
